Nearly a century after Albert Einstein’s visit to Catalonia, everyone who wants to will be able to visit – through the augmented reality-the places that the scientist visited during his stay in Barcelona in 1923. The Government, the City Council of Barcelona and the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació have drawn together a virtual path that recreates the Nobel’s stay in the city. Through the mobile phones with iOS and Android operating systems, citizens can see their screens and with augmented reality images and explanations of the various activities that the scientist was performing in the city.

The virtual tour is available within the app Layar, a specialized application in augmented reality content through the cameras of mobile devices allows you to view selected content on several real elements superimposed. Citizens who want to keep the virtual path will only have to download the Layar app from the address http://get.layar.com and scan the postcard that has been worked for the dissemination of the route or the facades of buildings and places included in the itinerary.

This virtual tour is part of the set of activities that were launched last February to commemorate the visit of Einstein in Catalonia in 1923 and set forth on the website http://www.gencat.cat/einstein.On the occasion of the anniversary have also developed two dossiers of teaching materials for primary and secondary students.
